Benefits of Cacao Ceremony and Sound Healing
One of the main reasons to assist a retreat could be that you are looking to re-connect your body and mind. Retreats that offer cacao ceremonies and sound healing as an addition to daily yoga and meditation practices, will make this connection easier. In this article we will tell you more on what these practices entail.
Setting Intentions: The Cacao Ceremony
In ancient times, cacao was already being used during sacred rituals in Native Mesoamerican cultures such as the Mayan. They extracted the pure cacao from its seed and named it Xocolatl. Indeed, this word has some resemblance with what we now know as chocolate. However, the cacao that we drink during the Cacao Ceremony is far from the chocolate you find in stores. It’s a type of cacao made through an ancestral recipe, free from sugar and milk. The bitter and intense taste will help to release your emotions and stimulates peaceful, happy and energetic feelings. Take advantage of the great connective powers between heart and mind of cacao by setting an intention for the meditation during the ceremony.
Tips when assisting a Cacao Ceremony
Make sure to hydrate well before and after the ceremony, as cacao can be intense to your body. It is recommended to wear light colors and clothes that make you feel comfortable.
Who will guide me at your retreat?
The Cacao Ceremony is performed by Andrea. She was born in 1986 in Switzerland. A few years ago, she discovered yoga and meditation as a powerful tool to calm the mind and connect to the heart. On her travels to Mexico she met cacao in a ceremony and this gave her an intense and beautiful experience to feel her intuition and the power of mother earth. Cacao helps her to stay present and to create her life led by her heart’s voice. Are you ready to experience it too?
Deep Meditation through Sounds and Vibrations
The amazing experience called Sound Healing is another powerful instrument to connect your body and mind. The deep vibrations produced by Gongs, Tibetan Bowls, a Spiral Bell, Koshi and other ancient musical instruments help to achieve a meditative state. We are honored to have Wu Wave invite you into the complete immersion to the powerful sounds of ancient musical instruments.
You will lay down and cover your eyes with a soft pad so you can reach an even deeper meditation. Often, Sound Healing is referred to as an instrumental bath and will assure a vibrant atmosphere. The vibrations that are released through sound have an immediate effect on your physical body and your mind. It is said that the energy of these sounds have a healing power.
